Title : BMW Z3 Service Manual
Author :
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : A must for the 3 series owner
This book is invaluable to any 3 series owner, especially those with the later models incorporating the M52 engine. I have been an avid fan of the Haynes manuals for many years but they have no plans to produce a Workshop manual for the later 3 series cars. The book has been written for the US market, hence the terms Hood,Trunk and Fenders, however, that in no way detracts from the wealth of information available. The drawings are of high quality, as are the photographs and electrical diagrams.
There are many special tools required to work on these sophisticated cars and it would have been worth the time and trouble to details possible alternatives, or show how some of these tools could be manufactured by the dedicated DIY mechanic.
All things taken into account, this book offers a wealth of information, and in the absence of any other publication, a must for the BMW 3 series owner.

Title : BMW 7 Series: The Complete Story (Crowood Autoclassic)
Author : Graham Robson
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : A great book for a great car
A very interesting read. It's always nice to know the heritage of your car and this book does that faultlessly.
If your 7 Series is more than just a car to get you from A - B then this book is for you. It gives lots of background information in to the design and manufacture of the 7 series.
It is packed with photos, drawings and technical data taken from the original design blueprints.
It's clearly written and the author obviously loves the 7 series as this shines through in the text.

Title : BMW Z3 Service Manual
Author :
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Not bad for the price, but not the best
While this manual has definite value to a 3 series owner, there are some drawbacks.
The schematics are good overall, but it did not cover later model cellular phone factory installed pre-wiring, for example. Also, the technique for removing the center console is vague (the Haynes book is better in this regard). I also noticed a photo of the dashboard was not even from a 3 series??
However, the book contains a lot of good information, which is not available elsewhere.
I recommend, it, but don't expect a factory shop manual.

Title : BMW Motorbike: The Ultimate Riding Machine
Author : Kevin Ash
Rating : 1 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Very poor. Little text, and uncaptioned pictures.
I have to say I was very disapointed with this book. I was expecting a large, well illustrated, and interesting book. Instead it is a brief history of BMW. It starts with some text but this is spaced out to make it look more substantial! You then get a series of photos. These initially have no captions! The photos are then repeated in smaller format at the end with captions! Why? Whats the point of doing a book like this?
I could not recomend this book to anyone... Sorry.

Title : BMW 3-Series Workshop Manual 1999-2005 (E46)
Author : Bentley Publishers
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Great reference
Good detail and broad range of subjects if a little Americanised. However it doesn't cover the M42 engine and the 318is.

Title : BMW 3-series (E46) Service Manual 1999-2001
Author :
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : An Indespensable guide to servicing and repair.
This book is excellent. It covers evrything you need to service and repair any E30, and I recommend all E30 owners buy a copy. It's clearly written and gives you the confidence to diagnose and repair many problems that E30 owners experience. Easily worth the asking price.

Title : BMW 5 Series Service Manual 1982-88: 528e, 533i, 535i, 535is

Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Great drawings practical detailed, easy to use understand.
This is a great book. Well laid out with fabulous line drawings that actually let you understand the repair. Suitable even for relatively unskilled mechanics. Good tips and very easy to use. Contains more information than any other manual out there for these cars. I recommend it even if you never work on your car since it helps you understand it better and with its handy diagnostic tables will let you prediagnose problems and keep your mechanic honest. Buy it if you have an E28 5 series. It doesn't cover the M5 though.
