Title : BMW 2002: A Comprehensive Guide to the Classic Sporting Saloon
Author : James Taylor
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Good overall, but needs more detail of US 2002 models.
The book was authoritive in its portrayal of the 2002's history and gave very good advice in what to look for in purchacing one. In my opinion too much of the book was spent covering extremely rare 2002s and ones that were not imported to the US. I would have rather seen more detail on the more common US models and more detail pictures of what the original (US) equipment was like. Some of the pictures and English terminology were not very clear to me. If you're interested in buying a 2002 it is a good book to have, but you may want to supplement it with others.

Title : BMW 5 Series Service Manual 1982-88: 528e, 533i, 535i, 535is
Author :
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Excellent Owner Support Manual
Compared to the Haynes, this book gives excellent photographs, warnings on appropriate procedures, tool and chemicals to make the job easier and a section on easy to build test equipment to help in diagnostics.
Coupled with BMW's Mobile Tradition CDROM covering illustrations and part numbers, this book will save the owner significant repair costs over a BMW dealership service department or after-market repair facility.
This is a MUST OWN for anyone interested in becoming involved in simple maintenance or more complex tasks to reduce the cost of owning a great performing German automobile. Bentley Publishers excels over other reference print materials.

Title : BMW 3 and 5 Series Service and Repair Manual (Haynes Service Repair Manuals)
Author : A.K. Legg
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : A practical users view of the Haynes BMW 3 and 5 series book
I owned a 318i 1990 model BMW for 12 years. I used this book as my source of guidance for the last 3 of those years.
On mechanical matters it is mostly good and has helpful advice for alternates to the purchase of BMW special tools. It does not however have any significant help on interior trim. I never did find out how to tighten up the interior rear view mirror which was loose. And if you want to remove or replace door trim you are on your own.
The book mainly illustrates operations with pictures of a 3 series car, there is relatively little for 5 series owners here. I think they may rate it only 2 Stars or less.
I personally would have liked to see more "exploded" line diagrams, so helpful in re-assembly of complex items.
None the less I would buy it again if I still had the car.

Author : Kiley

Summary : A must for all BMW fans
Even though written from an American perspective, this book is a must for all BMW fans who want to know more about their brand, its history, "secrets" etc. Very well researched.

Summary : That you need!
In these days, buying a car is like buying a computer software. You pay for the right to use it. And if something goes wrong, you get a minimun off help. This book can help you and save a lot off money, not having to go to the shop for every little thing. But still it's not complett. But still very usefull. Why spend $50 on the shop just to CHECK tho oil level in the transmission then you can do it yourself, with some help from the book.

Summary : Could have been more informative
I liked the illustrations although I was a little depressed as the book failed to tell me where my spark plugs were located on my diesel engine.
